Dolfenal (Mefenamic acid)
- Dolfenal (Mefenamic acid 250 mg) is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that relieves the pain caused by toothache, headache and dysmenorrhea. The Mefenamic acid has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic activities. It also has cyclooxygenase and COX-2 isoenzymes which inhibits synthesis and release of a group of chemicals called prostaglandins.
- Dosage and accommodation of Dolfenal toothache: The lowest effective dose of Dolfenal should be used for the shortest possible time. The medicine is given orally, preferably with food and a glass of water. For adults and teens older than 14 years, take 1 to 2 tablets every 8 hours as need or as directed by a doctor. For the relief of dysmenorrheal and premenstrual syndrome, take 1 to 2 tablets every 8 hours while symptoms persist or as directed by a doctor.
- Warnings and Precautions for Mefenamic acid: Do not take Dolfenal toothache for more than 7 days unless directed by a doctor. Do not take continuously for more than 10 days unless directed by a doctor.
