Prevention & treatment of secondary bacterial infections in measles, mumps, chicken pox, influenza & other viral infections. Prophylaxis in recurrent streptococcal infections including prevention of recurrence following rheumatic fever &/or Syndenham's chorea, & to prevent bacterial endocarditis after tonsillectomy or tooth extraction in patients w/ history of rheumatic fever &/or congenital heart disease.
