- Galvus Met (Vildagliptin/Metformin Hydrochloride) 50 mg/500 mg is a combination drug of 50 mg Vildagliptin (DPP-4 inhibitor), and 500 mg Metformin (Biguanides) belongs to the class of anti-diabetic. Type 2 diabetes mellitus used to be known as 'non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM)' or 'maturity-onset diabetes'. Galvus Met (Vildagliptin/Metformin Hydrochloride) 50 mg/500 mg helps to control the blood sugar level. It works by making the pancreas produce insulin and less glucagon (effect of vildagliptin) and also by helping the body to make better use of the insulin it produces (effect of metformin).
- Dosage and administration for Galvus Met 500: Galvus 500 mg should not be used unless prescribed by a doctor. Always take Galvus 500 mg exactly as your doctor told you. Your doctor will advise you how often you take your tablets on the basis of your medical condition. Swallow the tablet with a full glass of water.
