Daphne
- Daphne Lynestrenol 500 Mcg (Lynestrenol) is an oral contraceptive particularly in cases of intolerance to estrogen-progestogen combined pills. It is also used when estrogens are contraindicated. It is recommended for smoking women and lactating mothers who require contraception. Each tablet contains 500 mcg of Lynestrenol.
- Dosage and administration of Daphne: 1 tab starting on the first day of the menstrual flow for 21 days. Start with a new pack after 7 pill free days. The patient can start any day as long as the patient is not pregnant and can continue taking the pill as long as the patient wants to avoid pregnancy. Interval of pills should be 24 hours
- Daphne 500 mcg has contraindications to patients with: Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding hepatic impairment progestogen-dependent tumors, porphyria active venous thromboembolic disorders or severe arterial disease Pregnancy. Daphne precautions are advised for people with: Renal dysfunction hypertension migraine epilepsy asthma hypertension Diabetes Mellitus conditions which may be exacerbated by fluid retention post ectopic pregnancy functional ovarian cysts, thromboembolism malabsorption syndrome Lactation. Regular consultation with a healthcare provider is advised while taking Daphne.
