Yaz
- Yaz (ethinylestradiol + drospirenone) 3mg/20mcg is a prescription medicine that is used to treat symptoms of moderate acne and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). It is also used as a contraceptive pill to prevent pregnancy. Each tablet contains 3 mg of Drospirenone and 20 mcg of Ethinyl Estradiol.
- Dosage and administration of Yaz (Drospirenone/Ethinyl Estradiol) 3mg/20mcg Tablet: Take one tablet at the same time every day. When pills are missed or taken incorrectly, the failure rate may increase. To achieve maximum contraceptive effectiveness, Yaz birth control must be taken as directed, in the order directed on the blister pack. Single missed pills of Yaz contraceptive should be taken as soon as remembered. Yaz birth control is contraindicated in patients with renal impairment and hepatic impairment.
- Warnings and precautions for women with: Risk factors for CV disease Depression Prediabetes or diabetes mellitus Hypertriglyceridemia History of chloasma gravidarum SLE Chronic inflammatory bowel disease Hereditary angioedema History of pregnancy-related cholestasis and smoking Postmenopause Lactation Patients with any of the aforementioned, seek doctor's advice before taking Yaz contraceptive.
