Januvia (Sitagliptin Phosphate) 1 Tablet
- Januvia 25 mg (Sitagliptin Phosphate) is an adjunct to diet and exercise which aims to improve glycemic control in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It contains sitagliptin phosphate which is an orally-active inhibitor of the dipeptidyl peptidase4 (DPP-4) enzyme. Sitagliptin phosphate 25 mg is a diabetes drug that works in increasing the levels of natural substances called incretins. The incretins help to control the blood sugar via increasing the insulin release, especially after a meal.
- Dosage and administration of Sitagliptin phosphate 25 mg: The recommended dosage of Januvia is 100 mg once daily. May be taken with or without food. The dosage depends on the medical condition of the patient. Check the blood sugar regularly and consult a doctor to know if dosage or treatment should be changed.
- Januvia 25 mg is contraindicated to patients with type 1 diabetes and diabetic ketoacidosis. Warning and precautions should be observed to patients with: renal impairment acute pancreatitis severe abdominal pain hypersensitivity Pregnancy and lactation elderly children below 18 years old.
