Janumet (Sitagliptin / Metformin) Tablet
- Janumet (Metformin + Sitagliptin) is a medication used as an initial therapy to patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus to help improve glycemic control when diet and exercise alone cannot provide adequate glycemic control. It is also an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control to patients with type 2 DM who cannot be controlled with metformin or sitagliptin alone. It can be prescribed alone or along with other diabetes medications.
- Dosage and administration of Sitagliptin Phosphate/Metformin Hydrochloride 50 mg/500 mg: Take Janumet 50 mg/500 mg on the dosage and duration as advised by the physician. Swallow whole, do not chew or crush. It should be taken with food. Do not spill or divide Janumet tablets. For the missed dose, take as soon as remembered. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue on the regular schedule. Do not double dose.
- Sitagliptin Phosphate/Metformin Hydrochloride 50 mg/500 mg has contraindications to hypersensitivity, renal impairment, and acute or chronic metabolic acidosis. Warnings and precaution should be observed to the following patients: pregnancy breastfeeding patients with kidney disease patients with liver disease
