Diatabs Loperamide HCl 4 Capsules
- Diatabs Loperamide HCl (Loperamide) is a medication used for acute nonspecific diarrhea, chronic diarrhea associated with inflammatory bowel disease. It also helps reduce number and volume of discharge in patients with ileostomies and colostomies.
- Diatabs dosage and administration: For symptomatic relief of acute diarrhea: adult dose: Take 2 caps initially or as directed by a physician Maximum dose for diatabs uses is 16 mg or 8 caps per day. For symptomatic relief of chronic diarrhea: adult dose: Take 2 caps followed by 1 cap after each loose bowel movement. Then reduce the dose to meet individual requirements. When the optimal dose per day has been established, administer this amount as a single dose or as directed by a doctor. Average daily maintenance dose: Take 2 to 4 caps per day. A dosage of 5 caps or 10 mg is rarely exceeded. May be taken with or without food For the missed dose, just take the next dose if still needed for diarrhea. Do not double dose.
